What We Treat
Pain that hasn't responded to rest, therapy, or time.
If you've been told your options are "live with it" or surgery, there may be another path. Regenerative medicine is one of the options we'll walk through with you, alongside conservative care and, when appropriate, surgery.
Not sure if you're a candidate? That's exactly what your first visit is for. Bring your imaging, your history, and your questions — we'll give you a straight answer.

Our Treatments
Non-surgical options, explained honestly.
Each therapy below is minimally invasive and is offered only after a physician evaluation. Which one is right for you depends on your condition, your goals, and your physician's assessment.
01
Birth-tissue-derived biologics
Mesenchymal Stem Cell Therapy
Ethically sourced, birth-tissue-derived mesenchymal stem cells — obtained only from facilities that meet Florida's requirements under s. 458.3245, F.S.: registered with the FDA, accredited by a recognized tissue or blood banking organization, and verified to contain viable cells after thawing. Offered under Florida law for orthopedic and pain-management conditions, following a physician evaluation and signed informed consent.
May be discussed forDegenerative joint conditions, arthritis, and orthopedic injuries where natural healing has stalled.
02
Extracellular vesicles
Exosome & Extracellular Vesicle Therapy
Stem cell–derived exosomes are microscopic extracellular vesicles that carry proteins, enzymes, and microRNA between cells. Research into their role in inflammation and tissue repair is ongoing, and their clinical benefit has not been established. Your physician will review the current evidence, risks, and alternatives with you before any decision.
May be discussed forSoft-tissue and joint conditions, evaluated case by case.
03
Umbilical cord connective tissue
Wharton's Jelly
Wharton's Jelly is the gelatinous connective tissue of the umbilical cord, rich in collagen and hyaluronic acid. It is used in select orthopedic applications as a connective-tissue allograft; your physician will explain the product, its regulatory status, and what the evidence does and does not show for your condition.
May be discussed forSelect joint and connective-tissue conditions, evaluated case by case.
04
Made from your own blood
Patient Pure X (PPX)
An autologous preparation made from a small sample of your own blood, processed to concentrate platelet-derived components. Because it comes from your own body, there is no donor tissue involved. Its clinical benefit for specific conditions is still being studied, and your physician will discuss the evidence, risks, and alternatives with you.
May be discussed forPatients who prefer an option made from their own blood.
05
Comprehensive non-surgical care
Regenerative Orthopedic Medicine
Complete, surgeon-directed management of arthritis, sports injuries, and degenerative conditions. Because our founding physician is an orthopedic surgeon, you get something rare in regenerative medicine: an honest answer about when surgery is the right call — and when it isn't.
May be discussed forAnyone weighing their options before committing to an operation.
06
Medicine the way it should feel
Concierge Medical Services
Direct access to your physician. Unhurried visits. A care plan built around your life, not a billing schedule. Our concierge model means you're never a number in a waiting room — you're a patient with a name, a story, and a doctor who knows both.
May be discussed forPatients who want ongoing, personalized care with direct access to their physician.
Regulatory status. None of the biologic therapies listed above (mesenchymal stem cells, exosomes and extracellular vesicles, Wharton's Jelly, or Patient Pure X) has been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat any orthopedic or musculoskeletal condition. The FDA has stated that there are currently no FDA-approved exosome products. These therapies are not a substitute for FDA-approved treatments, results vary, and no outcome is guaranteed. Before any treatment, your physician will review the nature of the therapy, its regulatory status, anticipated results, risks, benefits, and alternatives, and you will be asked to sign a written informed consent.
Michael Magee, MDBoard Certified Orthopedic Surgeon
Our Founding Physician
A surgeon who believes surgery should be the last resort.
Michael Magee, MD · Board Certified, American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery
Dr. Magee spent his career in the operating room — which is exactly why he founded ROMI. After years of seeing patients who might have avoided surgery with the right intervention at the right time, he built a practice dedicated to exploring every non-surgical option first.
The best surgeons know when not to operate. My job is to give every patient an honest map of their options — and walk the least invasive path that actually works.
Every treatment plan at ROMI is developed and directed by licensed physicians, so your care carries surgical-level judgment from the very first visit.

Your First Visit
Three steps from "living with it" to a plan.
1
Tell us your story
A thorough history and hands-on orthopedic examination. Bring your imaging and records if you have them — we'll review everything together, without rushing.
2
Get honest answers
A clear discussion of every path: regenerative therapy, conservative care, or — when it's the right answer — a surgical referral. No sales pitch, ever.
3
Start your plan
A personalized treatment plan with defined goals and follow-up. New-patient intake forms are ready at your visit, so your time goes to care — not paperwork.
Insurance & Self-Pay
Clear about costs, before your visit.
Two kinds of care, paid for differently — here's how it works.
Insurance
Orthopedic evaluation & care
We accept the following plans for orthopedic evaluations and standard orthopedic care. Coverage varies by plan, so we verify your benefits before your visit.
Same-week appointments are often available. Call (321) 999-7335, Monday–Friday 9:00 AM – 4:30 PM, and we'll find the soonest opening at the location most convenient for you.
Do I need a referral?
No referral is needed to schedule an evaluation, though some insurance plans require one — we'll let you know when we verify your benefits. If you have imaging (X-rays, MRI) or records from another provider, bring them.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. We accept Florida Blue, UnitedHealthcare, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, TRICARE, and Medicare for orthopedic evaluations and standard orthopedic care; coverage varies by plan and we verify it before your visit. Regenerative biologic therapies are not FDA-approved, are generally not covered by insurance or Medicare, and are offered on a self-pay basis with a written cost estimate up front.
Am I a candidate for stem cell or biologic therapy?
It depends on your condition, its severity, and your overall health. That's exactly what your first visit determines: a physician evaluates you and tells you honestly whether a regenerative biologic therapy is worth considering — or whether another path makes more sense.
Are these therapies FDA-approved?
No. The biologic therapies we offer have not been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat orthopedic conditions. Stem cell therapy is offered under Florida law (s. 458.3245, F.S.). We encourage you to consult with your primary care provider before undergoing any stem cell therapy, and you'll sign a written informed consent before any treatment.
Will I be pushed toward a treatment?
No. Our founding physician is an orthopedic surgeon, and our philosophy is simple: every option on the table, explained plainly, including the option to do nothing. You decide — we advise.
Which location should I go to?
Whichever is closest. Our physicians rotate across six locations in Orlando, Lake Mary, Davenport, Metro West, and Deltona. Call and we'll match you to the nearest clinic day.
